While NC-GOE is in D.C. for the 9/12 March, we will be at Walter Reed Hospital on the evening of 9/11. Standing with the Freepers at the gates of the hospital has become a tradition for GOE any time we're in DC. This time, we go bearing gifts for the wounded troops within. We asked our famous Eagle George Samek if he could round up a computer to give to the troops. The idea was that they could share it and use it (with webcam and mike) to visit with their families and friends. On last report, George has managed to get at least 20 brand new laptop computers donated and/or purchased. These laptops are being purchased at BestBuy all over the country ... not just North Carolina. This project has gone far beyond the boundaries of the Tarheel state as computers are being purchased and some already shipped. Some webcams have been purchased or donated to go with the computers, but we need to get more. If we're going to keep up with George on the computers, we will need a LOT more webcams.
